  • While prior knowledge can be useful, no experience is required as long as you are committed and eager to learn. Our pre-course tutorials help you prepare for our program.
  • It’s not about your experience, your resume or your degree—it’s about your dedication and hard work. Web development is challenging, so we look for students who success-driven because we know that this program requires a commitment of time and effort in order to best learn the course concepts.
  • No, applicants do not need to be UC San Diego students. This program is offered through UC San Diego Extension.
  • This program requires completion of an application process and is not open enrollment. Prospective students can fill out our program information request form or call our admissions department. Applicants  go through an initial phone interview with an advisor. Those who are recommended to move forward take a critical thinking and problem-solving coding test. Then those who pass the academic test will have a final interview with our academic department to determine if they are accepted into the program.
  • No, the only requirement is that you be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
  • We offer a part-time program that allows working professionals to study web development without leaving work, as well as a full-time program for those who wish to study at a faster pace.
  • We provide access to a robust set of career planning services.
  • Our curriculum is built based on the most in-demand technologies specific to the San Diego market.
  • Our part-time program requires 10 hours of in-class time per week. In addition, you must be willing to dedicate a minimum of 20* hours to outside work per week (*depending on experience) in order to truly immerse yourself in the materials covered in class.
  • Our full-time program requires 20 hours of in-class time per week. You must be willing to dedicate a minimum of 20-30* hours to outside work per week (*depending on experience) in order to thrive in our FT program.
  • Yes, a reliable laptop is required for this course. Laptops can be Mac or PC, with a minimum 8GB of RAM and a dual core processor (64 bit).
  • If you’re unsure if your laptop meets the requirements, please check with our admissions advisor first and they will make sure you’re good to go.
  • No, all that is needed for class is your laptop and the eagerness to learn.
  • Currently, UC San Diego alumni are eligible for a $500 scholarship toward tuition. We also offer early registration pricing and payment plans.

No data science experience is required. It is recommended that applicants hold a Bachelor’s Degree or have at least two years of experience in business, management, finance, statistics, or a related field.
